The report of the associate professor of the CSH, Ketevan Dzhelidze, at the international conference

From October 25 to 28, Ketevan Grdzelidze, an associate professor at the Caucasus School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the head of the Bachelor’s degree English philology program at Caucasus University, participated in the international scientific conference "Yeats and Elevation: The Nobel Prize Centenary Conference 2023" held in Stockholm, Sweden.

 

The conference commemorated the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize being awarded to the renowned Irish poet of the 20th century, William Butler Yeats. It featured prominent scholars of Yeats, such as Roy Foster, Neil Mann, Charles Armstrong, and more.

 

The head of the English philology program at Caucasus University, who is also a Yeats researcher, delivered a presentation at the conference - "Tower Counter Tower: Yeats's Images of Gallery and Circus". During the conference, Her Excellency Barbara Jones, the Ambassador of Ireland to the Kingdom of Sweden, invited the participants to an event at the embassy, where the researchers of W.B. Yeats had the opportunity to leave memorable notes. The Ambassador expressed her appreciation to the researchers and their universities for their dedication in keeping the creativity of the great Irish poet alive.
