On 16 October, students in the English Philology programme met with renowned translator and scholar of Oriental studies Davit Akhaladze. The meeting was organised at the initiative of Professor Manana Matiashvili as part of the course Fundamentals of Translation Theory.

Drawing on his professional experience, the speaker discussed the nuances of translating English-language prose and poetry into Georgian, highlighting common challenges and strategies for addressing them.

The interactive session gave students an opportunity to ask questions about topics of interest and engage in discussion with the guest speaker.
