On 27 July, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Caucasus University held an online coordination meeting of the Jean Monnet Chair “European Union for Peace, Prosperity and Security” (EU-PPS).
The meeting was attended by Tinatin Giorgadze, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Nino Khvleuri, Administrative Director of the School's Educational Programmes; Akaki Kapanadze, Head of the Project Management Department; and Tamar Telia, International Projects Manager at the Project Management Department of Caucasus University.
During the meeting, Professor Guranda Chelidze, Chair Holder of the Jean Monnet Chair, presented a comprehensive overview of the Chair's activities, highlighting the achievements and outcomes of the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 academic years. She reviewed the progress made throughout the implementation of the project and reflected on the experience gained during its second year.
The presentation focused on the Chair's key academic and dissemination activities, including the Jean Monnet lecture courses, public lectures delivered by Professor Radu Carp of the University of Bucharest, group lectures, and events organised within the framework of Europe Day.
According to the activity report, during the 2025-2026 academic year, the Chair reached a broad audience of beneficiaries: 72 students participated in the Jean Monnet lecture courses, 37 students attended the lectures delivered by the visiting professor, 56 participants took part in the group lectures, and 16 students participated in Europe Day events.
Professor Chelidze also presented the evaluation results and participant feedback, emphasizing the high level of student engagement, their growing interest in European Union studies, and their strong motivation to deepen their knowledge of the topics addressed through the Chair's activities.
Particular attention was devoted to the Chair's international scientific activities, including participation in international academic conferences and the publication of research outputs. The presentation also highlighted the importance of complementing the project's planned activities with additional dissemination channels to maximize the visibility and impact of the knowledge generated within the Jean Monnet Chair.
The meeting concluded with an overview of the Chair's planned activities for the 2026-2027 academic year, including preparations for the international scientific conference scheduled for October 2026 and other forthcoming academic initiatives.
