On November 10, Prof. Mzia Mikeladze Conference hall played host to the South Caucasus International Conference  - New Standards and Approaches in Journalism Education, Media and Mass Communication Studies.

The conference was organized by Media and Communication Educational and Research Center (MCERC) and funded by DW Akademie.

Conference topics included: Journalism education: new teaching methods and standards; Challenges in journalism curricula: discovering best practices; Academia, labor market and employment in media; Transfer of practical knowledge in education; Journalistic ethics and media law, etc. The presenters were representatives of the Georgian, Azerbaijan and Armenian Universities.

The Round table of educators from different media schools in the South Caucasus focused on media education and discussed challenges facing them. The participants discussed the best practices and challenges of media education.

Founded in 2015, MCERC aims to support enhancement of media and mass-communication by creating new knowledge and carrying out educational-research activities.
