On May 29 at 15:00, Caucasus University will host a First Aid Competition for prospective students interested in the field of medicine.
Only XII grade students can participate in the competition.
The competition will be led by Caucasus University Professor Mzia Tsiklauri.
The tasks will be performed on simulators and mannequins:
- Methods of assessing vital signs:
- Pulse counting and use of a pulse oximeter
- Body temperature measurement methods:
- Ear
- Oral
- Armpit
- Blood pressure measurement methods:
- Brachial artery
- Popliteal fossa
- Breathing rate assessment
- BLS for adults:
- Chest compressions (cardiac massage)
- Artificial ventilation techniques
- Foreign body aspiration technique:
- For adults;
- For children;
- Intravenous injection technique;
- First aid for bleeding:
- For venous bleeding;
- For arterial bleeding;
- Tourniquet application technique;
The top three participants will receive certificates and symbolic gifts from the Caucasus Medicine School.
