Mock Mediation Process for Prospective Students “Mediation - Negotiation Techniques for Future Lawyers”

As part of the activity, a mock mediation process will be held for prospective students. The event will begin with a brief introduction to mediation as an alternative method of dispute resolution. Participants will be presented with household dispute cases in both electronic and physical formats. The attendees will participate in a mock mediation process in the courtroom, where they will have the opportunity to play the roles of lawyers and mediators.

 

The goal of the activity is to popularize mediation as an alternative means of dispute resolution and raise societal awareness on this topic, especially among young people. Students will be able to expand their knowledge of mediation and negotiation techniques in a fun and interactive way, which will increase their motivation for a more thorough study of this issue, leading to the development of negotiation and compromise skills in the new generation.

 

Issues to be discussed within the framework of the event:

 

  • Means of resolving civil legal disputes;
  • The essence and purpose of mediation;
  • The role of the mediator in the negotiation process;
  • Negotiation techniques;
  • Drawing up a mediation settlement act;

 

The process will be led by Nino Kharitonashvili, Associate Professor of Caucasus University, Doctor of Law.

 

The event will be held on May 10, at 10:00, in the Caucasus University courtroom.

 

Duration: 2 hours.

 

Participants will be awarded certificates of participation.
