Caucasus School of Media is launching a 6-month media literacy project. Young people aged 15-18 from any region of Georgia can participate in it. The project participants will be hosted by the Dean of Caucasus School of Media, journalist Nino Zhizhilashvili.
Project Content
Within 3 days, the young people will meet with trainers who will introduce them to the challenges that the modern communications world faces with each citizen. This is a cycle of interactive meetings where participants will learn: how to work on social media; How to distinguish between genuine information and propaganda; How to identify, verify, and prevent the spread of false information from the Internet. In addition, project participants will develop basic journalistic writing, camera, photo/video skills. The media product prepared by them will be posted on social media at the end of each cycle.
Project format
The Media Literacy Program will host 5 groups in November-March. There will be 15 listeners in each stream. Each group will stay at Caucasus University for 3 days. Participants will be selected based on the following documents:
- Application form
- Essay, maximum 250 words that should describe your motivation for why you want to participate in this project
- Letter of recommendation issued by the school

Project financing
The cost of living, travel and daily necessities of the participants is covered by Caucasus University. The project is supported by the US Embassy to Georgia.
