On February 26, Caucasus University, Axel, and GITA hosted an exclusive closed-door event for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center Startup Pre-acceleration program CUnicorn participants and CU Alumni.
The event aimed to:
- Connect CUnicorn startups with the CU Alumni network;
- Support and foster innovative projects;
- Strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem and create new opportunities.
The event featured opening remarks from Caucasus University President, Kakha Shengelia, and Axel’s Managing Director, Iro Tsagareishvili.
During the event, four CUnicorn startups – Beezy, BioNova, IDM, and Portico – pitched their ideas, while attending investors, entrepreneurs, and alumni had the opportunity to engage with the startup and investment ecosystem.
Axel and Caucasus University intend to further strengthen their partnership and develop a more strategic collaboration, paving the way for larger and more diverse initiatives.
As part of the collaboration, the Caucasus University Alumni Investment Forum will be held twice a year—a closed investment forum exclusively designed for Caucasus University alumni. This forum will provide them with the opportunity to present their startups to potential investors and secure funding, regardless of whether they have participated in CUnicorn or not.
The forum will serve as a unique platform for innovative and promising startups, offering not only access to capital but also the chance to establish strategic partnerships and receive valuable feedback for business growth. Additionally, alumni will have the opportunity to join the angel investor network, support emerging startups, and contribute to the development of both their own investment activities and the broader startup ecosystem.
This gathering once again underscored the significance of the partnership between Caucasus University, Axel, and GITA, which remains committed to supporting startups and strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the future.
