Fintech and Financial Education Ideathon

On October 6, the Financial Technology and Financial Education Ideathon was held at Caucasus University, organized by the University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.

 

The ideathon focused on identifying real-world challenges in FinTech, FinEdu, and the broader financial sector, and developing innovative solutions to address them. The event served as a preparatory stage for UNI4VERSE, the university-wide competition. Throughout the day, participants explored current trends in FinTech and the banking sector, user needs, and emerging opportunities within the industry.

 

Participants discussed the key challenges facing the financial sector, the needs of consumers, and how innovative and effective solutions could be developed to address them.

 

The practical part of the ideathon focused on teamwork, developing MVPs and prototype concepts, and refining ideas.

 

During the Ideathon, participants had the opportunity to hear from and learn from:

 

  • Giorgi Kintsurashvili – Head of Innovation at TBC Bank;
  • Davit Kikvidze – Chairman of the Georgian FinTech Association;
  • Irakli Svanidze – Director of the Caucasus University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center;
  • Giorgi Chugoshvili – Serial Entrepreneur, Founder and COO of Amadeo;
  • Tinatin Kobakhidze – FinTech Project Manager at 2 Nabiji and a graduate of Caucasus University’s Grenoble program.

 

At the end of the day, teams presented the ideas they had developed based on their newly acquired knowledge and collaborative work. The final stage focused on key evaluation criteria, including the relevance of the problem, understanding of user needs, and the innovativeness and feasibility of the proposed solutions.
