A delegation of rectors from 19 German Universities of Applied Sciences visited Caucasus University

4 April 2025

Caucasus University hosted a delegation of rectors from 19 German Universities of Applied Sciences. The delegation was welcomed by the President of Caucasus University, Dr. Kakha Shengelia.

The visit was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and aimed to strengthen cooperation between Georgian and German higher education institutions.

The visit program consisted of several stages. In the first stage, during a roundtable discussion, the President of Caucasus University, Dr. Kakha Shengelia, and Vice President, Dr. Irena Melua, introduced the university’s key achievements and internationalization priorities to the guests. German partners actively participated in the discussion, which led to the identification of new cooperation areas in artificial intelligence, engineering, and sustainable finance.

The primary goal of the visit was to familiarize the delegation with private and public universities that are actively represented in the Georgian educational sector, alongside Caucasus University. To achieve this, Caucasus University, in collaboration with DAAD, hosted 10 Georgian higher education institutions, providing them with the opportunity to discuss future cooperation prospects with German partners.

The delegation also included representatives from Caucasus University’s partner institutions, with whom the university already conducts student, academic, and administrative staff mobility programs. This large-scale meeting further expands Caucasus University’s opportunities in Germany and opens new perspectives for future joint projects.
