Caucasus University has secured funding for a new project under the "Jean Monnet Chair" competition of the European Union Erasmus+ program.
Starting from the autumn semester of 2024, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Caucasus University will lead the Jean Monnet Chair titled "European Union for Peace, Prosperity, and Security."
Georgia's European future makes EU studies even more important both in higher education institutions and beyond. The aim of the chair is to address the critical challenges and demands of European integration, foster the education of future professionals in European studies, generate new knowledge about the European Union in the context of ongoing changes in Europe and the wider world, and deepen understanding of the EU's role, values, and standards in Georgia.
In order to achieve the goals of the chair, it is planned to develop five training courses, as well as the organization of Sunday and summer schools. The chair will also focus on implementing a research component and other activities. The initiative will be led by Professor Guranda Chelidze of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, along with her team: Professor Ekaterine Kardava of Caucasus University and Professor Radu Carp of the University of Bucharest.
