Caucasus University Jean Monnet Center of Excellence Trainings in Telavi

25 November 2024

From November 22 to 24, the Caucasus University Jean Monnet Center of Excellence for EU Policy Transposition (EUPOLTRANS) conducted an intensive, high-level training course on “EU Policy Transposition in Georgia” in Telavi.

The training course was attended by selected applicants, including students, university staff, as well as representatives from civil society and civil service.

The course was opened by the project coordinator, who spoke about the institutions and policies of the European Union, as well as the modern dynamics of Georgia-EU relations. Project experts covered Georgia's convergence with EU legislation in areas such as labor law, environmental protection, consumer rights, competition policy, public administration, and foreign and security policy. Experts also covered the existing lack of convergence or transposition after the candidacy and the nine steps posed by the EU in view of the policy areas covered by the project.

Despite the busy agenda, the training course was very interactive, with high audience engagement.

At the end of the course, participants were awarded certificates from Caucasus University.
