The Caucasus University's team "Kariatida" is competing in the current, ninth student season of The Bookshelf, with the following members: Mariam Januashvili (CSH); Luka Mirgatia (CSE); and Mariam Kurtsikidze (CSH).
It should be noted that the team advanced to the semi-finals after winning the quarter-final game. The fact that the Caucasus University team advanced to the semi-finals for the second time in the bookshelf's history and finished among the four best teams of the season is especially significant. (This result was achieved for the first time by the team "Khafangi-122").
The participants described the journey to the semi-finals as tense and dramatic. The opposing team had the advantage during the main rounds of the game in both the eighth and fourth finals, but in the final stage of the game, during the blitz, Mariam Januashvili was able to turn the score around and win for the team. In the quarter-finals, one point was all that separated the team from defeat.
Since 2016, the Georgian Public Broadcaster has aired The Bookshelf, a literary youth intellectual project. (There have been 12 school and 8 student seasons in total, the 9th student season is currently on air). The game lasts one season and is played in a competition format using the Olympic system.
