21 November 2023

HR Professionals' Guild (HRPG) and Caucasus University (CU) co-hosted a conference - "Artificial Intelligence in Education and Labor Market Challenges" at Caucasus University.

The conference featured renowned scientists in the fields of psychology, philosophy, cultural studies, marketing, training and development, as well as practical experts whose activities are related to the interaction of artificial intelligence, education and the labor market and their role in the socio-economic development of the country. The event gave the audience an opportunity to receive information about the challenges and possibilities associated with artificial intelligence, education, and the labor market. This was the first attempt to present information about the role and impact of artificial intelligence on education and the labor market in a multifaceted way.

The purpose of the conference was to: determine the extent of the complex interaction between artificial intelligence and education; Decipher the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in educational methodologies, determine the extent and quality of its influence on the demands and challenges of the workforce; Consider the requirements of the modern labor market, determining the relevance of the emerging learning paradigms of artificial intelligence; Identify ways, means and opportunities to bridge the gaps and difficulties between the development of artificial intelligence, education and labor market dynamics, which will help regulate the imbalance between evolving work demands and educational strategies.

Participants had the opportunity to learn about artificial intelligence tools, such as personalized learning platforms and intelligent learning systems, which can improve teaching methods and adapt to the needs of individual students and the demands of the labor market.

Experts from the industry shared their knowledge, best practices, innovative approaches, and practical insights with the audience which they can later apply to address challenges in their work or research.

Importance of the conference:

  • It is significant for the education system, serving as a vital platform to deliberate on how artificial intelligence can enhance teaching methodologies and align with the changing needs of the labor market.
  • It is of crucial importance for the labor market, as the opportunity arises to highlight the impact of artificial intelligence on education and, subsequently, on the demands of the workforce. Stakeholders can predict the nature and extent of skill changes, anticipate and address technological challenges, and align educational strategies with evolving workforce demands. This will contribute to the readiness of the labor market, address the professional challenges coming from artificial intelligence, and increase the likelihood of providing a skilled workforce.
  • Now and in the near future, it is extremely important to promote skill development, increase access to different forms of education and meet the rising demands of the labor market. The synergy of artificial intelligence and education can drive a country's socio-economic growth, provide future-ready human capital, and enhance technology-driven competitiveness in the global arena.
