CSL Union Presidential Elections

11 January
It was the first time in the history of CSL when students of all the three educational stages were given an opportunity to run for office.

The same procedure was applied to the elections at the other schools as well.

The vote was direct and general. The process was supported by the Central Election Commission of Georgia, University administration and different schools. The election process was hosted by Mzia Mikeladze Conference Hall. The number and enthusiasm of attending public were unprecedentedly high.

Two students ran for office: junior year student and the incumbent president of CSL Union, Giorgi Chakvetadze and freshman student of CSL, Tamta Margishvili. Giorgi Chakvetadze summed up the work performed by him during his presidency. Both candidates introduced the attending public with their programs. Then the ballot started. The ballot station was closed at 8.00 p.m. The votes were 85%-15% with Giorgi Chakvetadze turning out the winner. He has been elected the President of CSL Union for the second successive term. After introducing the new committee of CSL Union, Giorgi Chakvetadze will resume his work.
