On January 14, Caucasus University and the Center for Civil Integration and Inter-Ethnic Relations signed a memorandum of cooperation, which in association with Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and with support of the UN Association of Georgia and the United States Agency for International Development envisages carrying out a project “Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness” (PITA).
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Kakha Shengelia, the president of Caucasus University and Mr. Kakha Gabunadze, the director of the Center for Civil Integration and Inter-Ethnic Relations.
The memorandum was signed in the frames of “Promoting Integration, Tolerance and Awareness” program. Along with other important activities, an inter-university network of Georgian higher educational institutions enrolling representatives of different ethnic minorities and offering them Georgian language courses was set up.
The main goal of the inter-university network is to share experiences in teaching the national language, plan and implement joint programs for integration of minority groups and elevate tolerance and acceptance in students and lecturer-teachers.
