The Office of the President of Caucasus University has announced that Professor Robert Goodwin III was officially appointed today as Dean of New Westminster College of Caucasus University with concurrent appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of Caucasus University.
Professor Robert Goodwin III previously served as President and Chairman of the Board of Governors of New Westminster College in Canada from 2011 to 2017, before it became a constituent college of Caucasus University on November 1, 2017. He served as a member of the Advisory Council of the International Association of University Presidents from 2015 to 2017 and was reappointed for an additional three-year term in 2017.
In 2010, Professor Goodwin was appointed as a full Professor of Business Administration of Caucasus University. Also in 2010, he received the Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration Honoris Causa from Caucasus University. In 1984, he earned the Master of Public Administration (MPA) in Administrative Organization and Management from Golden Gate University, and in 1982, the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from National University. As a lifelong learner, Professor Goodwin has completed senior executive education programs at the Harvard Business School, Yale School of Management, Vanderbilt University, UCLA, and the University of Texas at Austin.
In 2001, Professor Goodwin retired as a state-commissioned Major General (SC) assigned to the Joint Services Detachment and Office of the Adjutant General of the South Carolina Military Department. Afterwards, he served as Ambassador to the Governor of South Carolina, and as a volunteer in other state-commissioned General Officer advisory positions. He has completed advanced military PME courses at National Defense University, Army War College, Army Management Staff College, Marine Corps Command and Staff College, Inter-American Defence College and the United Nations Institute.
He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Order of the Palmetto, Palmetto Cross and the Freedom of the City of London.
