The official presentation of Caucasus University (CU) President Kakha Shengelia’s book “History of Georgia”, translated into Turkish, was held at the Georgian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey.
The event was hosted by the Ambassador of Georgian to Turkey, Archil Kalandia, who opened the ceremony with a welcoming address. In his speech, Ambassador Kalandia emphasized the importance of translating Georgian works into Turkish to raise awareness of the language, culture, and history of Georgia. He highlighted the neighborly relations and strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey.
The book was translated into Turkish by Harun Chimke, whose contributions played a key role in familiarizing Turkish readers with Georgian history. Editors - Giokhan Sanli and Ketevan Kobuladze.
The presentation was attended by: historian and Düzce Üniversitesi professor, Ali Ertuğrul; well-known writer, translator and linguist, Kevser Ruhi; cardiac surgeon Ismet Dindar-Mikeladze as well as other distinguished guests from the academic community, historians and members of the diplomatic corps.
CU President Kakha Shengelia addressed the attendees, thanked the Ambassador, the Georgian Embassy in Turkey, the translator, and Turkish partners for their support and cooperation. He noted that this translation will contribute to strengthening cultural and educational ties between the two nations.
At the end of the event, President Shengelia signed special copies of the book and reaffirmed the importance of historical heritage in the context of bilateral relations.
