Dr. Khatuna Burkadze, a Professor at Caucasus University, explored the role of artificial intelligence at the NATO Defense College as part of the Partnership for Peace Fellowship.

Professor Burkadze examined how AI is transforming modern defense systems and reshaping the execution and coordination of military operations.

Dr. Khatuna Burkadze outlines several practical advantages of integrating artificial intelligence into defense systems: “The integration of AI into defense systems includes several significant advantages: (1) Artificial intelligence systems can combine large and diverse data sources and improve the decision-making process at all levels through predictive analytics. (2) The implementation of AI-equipped systems, including for intelligence data collection, expands the range of capabilities. This accelerates the operational tempo and ensures proper resource allocation. (3) AI facilitates situational analysis and the effectiveness and timeliness of the management process. This reduces the risk of incorrect assessments. (4) The integration of artificial intelligence into operations ensures the timely fulfillment of strategic functions regardless of geographical and other types of challenges.”

“Ultimately, superiority in digital technologies plays a significant role in determining the outcomes of war,” added Dr. Khatuna Burkadze.
