On January 11, the School of Humanities and Sciences at Caucasus University hosted a public lecture on the topic of granting Georgia the status of a candidate for EU membership.
The lecture was conducted as part of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet module at Caucasus University titled "Europeanization of Law Programs in Georgia." The module is led by Mrs. Ekaterine Kardava, a Doctor of Law, Jean Monnet professor, chairman of the "European Time" association, and a guest lecturer at Caucasus University. The meeting was attended by students and graduates of the bachelor’s program of European Studies, academic staff and administration representatives of Caucasus University and master’s students of the European Integration and Employment relations (EIGER) Master's Educational Program of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Caucasus University, and Georgian-American University.
The lecture covered key trends in the European Union related to expansion, discussed the challenges that Georgia has faced and continues to face in its journey towards the European Union, and explored mechanisms for assessing Georgia's further alignment with the EU. The audience showed interest in the topics. At the end of the meeting, a discussion took place, with students asking insightful questions, and plans were made for future meetings.
