On April 14, Caucasus University traditionally marked Georgian Language Day.
The concluding event of the project “I Love Georgian – My State Language” was opened by the President of Caucasus University, Kakha Shengelia. Professor Mariam Manjgaladze then delivered a presentation on “Georgian Language Days at Caucasus University.”
The event commenced with the student scientific-research conference “Language, Culture, Society,” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Academician Mzekala Shanidze. Thought-provoking research papers were presented by Mariam Labadze, Lika Kardava, Mariam Januashvili, Vakhtang Mirzikashvili, Tornike Gogoladze, and Ani Tatarashvili. The authors of the three best papers were selected and awarded prizes established by the Embassy of Lithuania and Intelekti Publishing.
As part of the event, the distinguished Italian Kartvelologist Luigi Magarotto delivered a highly engaging public lecture titled “Nikoloz Baratashvili and Giacomo Leopardi – Two European Romantics.”
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Georgia, H.E. Darius Vitkauskas, addressed the audience with a special speech.
Memoranda of cooperation were also signed with the Georgian Calligraphers Association and Intelekti Publishing.
Students and prospective students who participated in the conference and spelling competition were awarded certificates and prizes.
