April 14 - Georgian Language Day, at 16:00, on the campus of Caucasus University, a concluding event of the Georgian Language Days was held, where the famous French scientist, Professor Bernard Outtier, was awarded the prize established by the Caucasus University - "Supporter of the Georgian Language", which is given annually to well-known Kartvelologists or persons promoting the Georgian language, both Georgian and foreign scholars, for their special contributions and outstanding ideas.
The event was attended by: Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Nunu Mitskevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Georgia Diego Colas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to Georgia Andrius Kalindra and other honorary guests.
At the initiative of Professor Mariam Manjgaladze and organized by Caucasus University, various events were held within the Georgian Language Days from April 4 to April 14, including 5 public lectures (Mariam Manjgaladze & Eka Chikvaidze; Kakha Shengelia, Levan Berdzenishvili, Eter Tatarauridze, Beka Kurkhuli) for students and entrants. The cycle of events this year was based on the concept of freedom and expression of support for Ukraine.
On April 14, book safes decorated with all three types of the Georgian alphabet for students were placed in the "Georgian Alphabet Garden" of Caucasus University. An activity was held - "Read and share". The winners of the "My Calligraphy" competition were awarded vouchers from Caucasus University and souvenirs from the Group of Friends of the Parliament of Lithuania; All participants were awarded a certificate.
At the event, in cooperation with the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, an exhibition was held - "Publications of the Society for the Spreading of Literacy"; The staff of the National Library presented the relevant online platform.
