Meeting of the Green Tourism Hub of Caucasus University with Industry Representatives

On February 27, 2025, the Green Tourism Hub of Caucasus University hosted representatives of the tourism industry as part of its planned series of stakeholder meetings. The purpose of the meeting was to present the Hub’s ongoing activities and discuss opportunities for future collaboration.

 

The Green Tourism Hub operates within the framework of the Erasmus+ project ENRICHERHUBS, funded by the European Union, which aims to strengthen competencies in sustainable and green tourism. During the meeting, participants were introduced to the stages already implemented under the project, the Hub’s core functions, and its development vision. Particular emphasis was placed on the Hub’s role in strengthening effective links between academia and the business sector, promoting students’ practical engagement in addressing real business challenges, and expanding opportunities for joint projects, professional training, and research activities.

 

During the discussion, participants also examined the key challenges facing the tourism industry, including changing market demands, the need to improve service quality, and strategies for enhancing the sector’s competitiveness. The conversation further explored possible formats of collaboration with the Hub, such as thematic meetings, forums, and joint initiatives.

 

Special attention was given to the Hub’s role as a bridging platform between academia and industry, contributing to the preparation of workforce aligned with industry needs and reinforcing practice-oriented education. The prospects for developing the Hub’s consultancy activities and establishing partnership models were also discussed, with the aim of offering high-quality and competitive services to the tourism sector.

 

The meeting further underscored the need for closer cooperation between academia and the tourism business and positioned the Green Tourism Hub as a collaborative platform that facilitates the practical transfer of knowledge, the introduction of innovative approaches, and the strengthening of a sustainable tourism ecosystem in Georgia.
