On April 8, the NATO 75 ceremonial session dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was held at Caucasus University.
The event was opened by Kakha Shengelia, president of Caucasus University. The following speakers addressed the audience: Politician and philologist - Irakli Tsereteli; Head of the NATO Liaison Office - Alexander Vinnikov; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Georgia - Petr Kubernát; and invited guests of honor.
The event discussed the historical and global political significance of NATO, as well as the positive impact of the independence of Georgia and the Euro-Atlantic integration.
As part of the event, the Irakli Tsereteli NATO Research Center was opened at Caucasus University. Irakli Tsereteli is one of the leaders of the Georgian National Liberation Movement of 1987-1991 and the initiator of Georgia's NATO membership and Euro-Atlantic strategy in Georgia.
At the end, the folklore ensemble of the Caucasus University performed Georgian folk songs for the audience.
