On July 29, the Virtual Conference of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) hosted by CETYS University (Mexico) officially opened. The main theme of the conference is "Innovation and Inclusion: Key Priorities for Higher Education in a Post Pandemic World".

It should be noted that this is the final conferenced opened by Dr. Kakha Shengelia as the President of IAUP.

The three-day conference is attended by about 400 foreign university presidents and heads of educational institutions from around the world.

During the conference, on July 30, at the General Assembly of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), Dr. Kakha Shengelia officially ended his four-year term as President and was elected Chairman of the IAUP Board for a three-year term. The assembly also inaugurated the new president, Fernando Leon Garcia, who will hold the post for the next three years.

At the conference, Dr. Shengelia reviewed and summarized the important projects and achievements implemented during his presidential term. He also spoke about the challenges of the organization in the conditions of the pandemic and the activities carried out to deal with them. Kakha Shengelia thanked the IAUP members and partner organizations for their four years of hard work and active cooperation.
