On December 4–5, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Institutional Development Programme–funded project Promoting Quality Digital Education in Georgia (PRODIGE), a project consortium meeting and the National Roundtable were held at Tbilisi State University, with the participation of representatives from Caucasus University.
The aim of the PRODIGE project is to support Georgian universities in the digitalization of higher education. The project focuses on pedagogical innovation, the development of digital competencies among academic staff, the strengthening of institutional structures, and the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into the teaching and learning process.
The national event brought together representatives of Georgian universities and European experts. Over the two days, participants discussed project management issues, planned upcoming activities, and engaged in panel discussions on the following key topics:
- the development of digital practices;
- the quality of hybrid teaching;
- the upskilling of academic staff;
- the impact of AI on academic governance and institutional transformation.
The meeting also presented a pragmatic and accessible approach designed to support faculty in integrating AI responsibly into their teaching—a simple, practical framework aligned with core educational values.
European partners delivered inspiring presentations covering:
- digital quality assurance (HARNO – Estonia);
- inclusive and flexible education (UNED – Spain);
- digital competencies and employability (Algebra – Croatia);
- Using AI Responsibly at Hénallux: A Simple Framework for Teachers (Luxembourg).
The PRODIGE project is implemented within the Erasmus+ Programme with the participation of a consortium of European universities and aims to enhance digital higher education standards in Georgia, develop relevant legislative and institutional frameworks, and support the country’s digital transformation. Project coordinator is EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development).
