Public Lecture - "Gender Budgeting and its Role in Ensuring Good Governance"

On April 28, Caucasus University hosted a public lecture on "Gender Budgeting and its Role in Ensuring Good Governance".

 

The lecture was delivered by Shorena Kakhidze, Associate Professor of Caucasus University, Acting Head of the Parliamentary Budget Office.

 

The public lecture addressed issues such as: gender budgeting as an important tool for public financial management and its analysis at both international and Georgian levels. Also, two different issues were linked: knowledge about gender and knowledge about budgeting. The public lecture focused on the integration of gender issues in policy documents, the budget process and its importance for ensuring inclusive growth and sound and effective governance, which in turn promotes and strengthens the building of a democratic state.
