Teacher Technology Conference

On November 18, Caucasus University hosted a technology conference for educators, supported by RoCo Academy and the Caucasus Education School. The conference aimed to facilitate the exchange of pedagogical practices and the sharing of experiences in integrating technology into the teaching process.

 

About 100 interested active teachers and about 20 Caucasus University students interested in the aforementioned topic took part in the conference. 10 speakers presented at the conference:

 

  • Tornike Tsiramua - Co-Founder and CEO of Biliki Company. Topic: "Eco-friendly platform biliki.ai based on artificial intelligence"
  • Nana Nozadze - computer technology expert, mentor teacher. Subject: "Use of electronic resources in the learning process".
  • Giorgi Akhalaia - PhD, researcher of the Caucasus Cyber Security Center, technical director of the Scientific Cyber Security Association. Topic: "Cyber Hygiene in the Academic Environment".
  • Nargiz Kakhadze - leading teacher of computer technologies, teacher of technologies at Tbilisi public schools #70 and #72.
  • Ketevan Zazashvili - "Teaching technology at school, both in formal and informal environments"
  • Khatuna Razmadze - Topic: "Innovative teaching methods"
  • Nino Macharashvili - student of the electrical engineering course at the University of Georgia - topic: "Teaching visual programming in an informal environment".
  • Dachi Drezheshvili, a student of the electrical engineering course at the University of Georgia, a trainer at the Robolab - Sika Robotics and Technology Training Center. Topic: "Teaching robotics, club work in schools"
  • Tea Okropiridze, teacher of computer technology at Khidistavi Village Public School, Gori Municipality. Topic: complex assignment, preparation of an information booklet on the topic "This is Georgia".
  • Davit Nozadze, founder and director of RoCo Academy. A summary of the company's one-year operation and its role in teaching technology.

 

As part of the conference, Aluda Goglichidze, the dean of the Caucasus Education School, welcomed the participants and highlighted potential collaboration opportunities between schools and the university. Towards the end of the conference, all attendees received certificates. Furthermore, the participants had the chance to explore the university's laboratories, learn about the functions of the Student Support Center, and understand the role of student activities. This conference format is planned to be an annual event in the future, providing all educators interested in the use of technology with the opportunity to showcase their abilities or participate as trainees in the coming years.
