The 29th Annual Conference and Board Meeting of the Network of International Business and Economic Schools (NIBES)

The President of Caucasus University, Dr. Kakha Shengelia, and Vice President, Ms. Irena Melua, participated in the 29th Annual Conference and Board Meeting of the Network of International Business and Economic Schools (NIBES), hosted by Yuan Ze University in Taiwan.

 

During the event, network members unanimously elected, Ms. Sophie Peters, Associate Dean of ICHEC Brussels Management School, as the new Secretary-General for a two-year term.

 

Additionally, Ms. Irena Melua, Vice President of Caucasus University, was re-elected to the NIBES Board of Directors for a second term.

 

The theme of the conference was Sustainability, Digital Transformation, and Social Impact, around which sessions and presentations were held.

Network members actively exchanged updates on ongoing developments and projects at their institutions and explored new opportunities for future collaboration. Delegates also participated in the analysis of research session outcomes and received an overview of the activities conducted under the IR Affinity Group, led by Ms. Irena Melua.

 

It was also announced that the 30th Anniversary Annual Conference and Board Meeting of NIBES will be held in 2026 at the University of Southern Denmark.

 

It is also noteworthy that, within the framework of the working format, the President of Caucasus University, Kakha Shengelia, met with the President of YZU, Ching-Jong Liao.

 

NIBES is an international association established in 1996, currently bringing together 21 business and economics schools from 21 countries. Caucasus University joined NIBES in 2007 during the 11th Annual Meeting held in Hiroshima and remains the only Georgian member of the network.
