Professor Giorgi Bregadze and Assistant Professors Nata Robitashvili and Nino Tigishvili of the Caucasus University School of Tourism took part in Georgia’s most significant tourism event of the year - the national tourism summit “Turisteri,” held in the city of Batumi.
Turisteri is a hospitality industry summit attended by sector representatives - hotels, transportation companies, tour operators, food service establishments, operators of tourism-related attractions, as well as representatives of the academic sector.
The summit was officially opened by Professor Giorgi Bregadze with a presentation titled “Tourism Analytical Overview,” in which he discussed in detail the current state of tourism in Georgia, macroeconomic trends, market dynamics, industry challenges, and future prospects. His data-driven analytical perspective generated strong interest among participants.
On the second day of the summit, a practical workshop supported by the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme was held within the ENRICHER Hubs project (additional information: www.enricher.eu). The workshop was led by the academic team of the Caucasus School of Tourism - Giorgi Bregadze, Nata Robitashvili and Nino Tigishvili.
The workshop focused on “Developing Innovative Services: A Practical Service Design Workshop for the Hospitality Industry.” In an interactive environment, participants went through the full cycle of creating innovative services - identifying a problem, conducting research, applying idea-generation techniques, prototyping, and testing.
The practical exercises and teamwork demonstrated how customer needs can be transformed into valuable, innovative services, and how innovation can become a competitive advantage in the tourism and hospitality sector.
The workshop received strong interest and positive feedback from participants, who expressed a desire to engage in future trainings and innovative programmes planned within the ENRICHER Hubs framework.
