Within the framework of the Project for “Promoting Values-Based Education in Higher Education Institutions of the South Caucasus” (PROVE), a training course “How to Teach Values?” will be held for academic staff of Caucasus University on April 22 and 24.
The project is a strategic initiative developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program. The Program focuses on peace education, based on the approaches of The Values and Knowledge Education (VaKE) and is implemented in cooperation with organizations/universities from Austria, Georgia and Armenia. It is an innovative, student-centered method that combines values-based and research-oriented teaching.
In the modern educational space/ landscape, the role of a lecturer and teacher goes beyond the mere transmission of subject content. The era of globalization and artificial intelligence dictates that the mission of the university is to develop professionals with ethical awareness, social responsibility and critical thinking skills. Accordingly, the value-oriented educational process acquires special importance. The training “How to Teach Values?” will discuss what does values-based education mean and how academic content can become a tool for the formation of values; the VaKE (Values and Knowledge Education) methodology will be proposed as one of the main methodological approaches to values-based education. Any interested lecturer from the Caucasus University academic team, who is motivated to introduce/strengthen values-based education in the educational process, can participate in the training. The training will be held over 2 days:
Day I - April 22, 17:00 - 20:00, face-to-face format, Caucasus University.
