Caucasus University has been awarded funding for two master’s-level research projects under the Master’s Educational–Research Projects Grant Competition announced by the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. Both initiatives were selected among 44 projects funded nationwide.
The project is authored by Khatia Silakadze, a Master’s student at Caucasus University, under the academic supervision of Tengiz Verulava.
The study aims to evaluate access to rehabilitation services for patients living with rare neurological diseases in Georgia, identify and analyze existing systemic barriers, and benchmark national practices against those of highly developed countries. Drawing on the findings, the project will formulate evidence-based recommendations to inform improvements in public policy and healthcare financing mechanisms.
Project outcomes will include publication in an international peer-reviewed scientific journal, presentation at an international scientific conference, and the development of a practice-oriented analytical policy brief for policymakers and healthcare administrators. In addition, a policy forum bringing together healthcare sector representatives and the academic community is planned to support the translation of research findings into practice.
