As part of its Third Mission, Caucasus University hosted an insightful public meeting featuring Sandro Liluaishvili, founder of the social enterprise Tene.
The event focused on one of today’s most pressing environmental challenges: the role of the circular economy in the implementation of Georgia’s decarbonization strategy.
During the meeting, the speaker highlighted several key issues:
- Responsibility of the private sector: Emphasis was placed on the crucial role of businesses in meeting the commitments undertaken under the Paris Agreement and the EU–Georgia Association Agreement.
- Approaches to reducing emissions: Practical mechanisms were presented, demonstrating how responsible companies can effectively reduce carbon emissions.
- Sustainable business models: The discussion addressed current challenges and the strategic approaches required to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.
