The publication presents the results of a study conducted at Caucasus University titled “Patterns of Cannabinoid, Hallucinogen, and Stimulant Use Among Young Adults in Georgia.

Abstract:

The increasing use of narcotic substances among young people and the growing challenges in regulating this behavior have emerged as one of the most critical public health and societal issues worldwide. The study aims to analyze the prevalence, patterns, and underlying factors driving the use of cannabinoids, hallucinogens, and stimulants among young adults in Georgia.

The findings reveal that the consumption of these substances is widespread among Georgian youth and is frequently linked to unreliable sources of information, social pressure, and recreational motivations. This situation highlights the urgent need to strengthen educational, preventive, and awareness-raising initiatives.

The authors emphasize that evidence-based public health policies focused on prevention and education play a vital role in reducing substance use, enhancing the mental well-being of young people, and fostering a safe and supportive social environment.
