Panel discussion - "Key Competencies - Literacy and Challenges of Teaching Georgian Language at Primary Level"

On July 5, 2023, within the framework of the project - the cycle of panel discussions "Development of the country (economy, democracy, peace) and the labor market - challenges of pedagogy 2023", a panel discussion on the topic "Key Competencies - Literacy and Challenges of Teaching Georgian Language at the Primary Level" was held in the parliamentary library of Georgia (additional information about the project can be found at the link).

 

The following representatives of interest groups involved in the system of primary school education participated in the panel discussion:  students of primary pedagogy; representatives of the school community: working teachers, parents, school principals and employers. They presented their opinions, experiences, and visions on the aforementioned issue.

 

The meeting was held in an interactive mode - participants had the opportunity to ask questions and make comments.

 

Speakers:

Employer - Elguja Meladze, President of the Association of Employers;

Principal - Nana Edisherashvili, Principal of Gori Public School #8;

Teacher - Maia Lortkipanidze, Millennium School, head of department;

Parent - Megi Kavtuashvili, executive director of "Parents for Education";

Student - Anna Liparteliani, Caucasus University, elementary pedagogy.

Aluda Goglichidze - Dean of Caucasus Education School, Affiliated Associate Professor;

Paata Papava - Affiliated associate professor of Caucasus University;

Giorgi Kekelidze - Director General of the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia.
