On July 5, Munshi Masudul Haq, a student in the English-language doctoral program of the School of Economics at Caucasus University, publicly defended his dissertation titled "Food Security and Food System Resilience in Crises: A Review of Political Economy."

The scientific supervisor was Mahmoud Khalil, Assistant Professor at Qatar University. 

The defense of the dissertation was held before the dissertation board, with the following composition:

• Erekle Pirveli, Professor, School of Business, Caucasus University
• Vano Benidze, Professor, School of Economics, Caucasus University
• Tengiz Taktakishvili, Professor, School of Business, Caucasus University
• Mahmoud Khalil, Assistant Professor and Director of the Entrepreneurship Center, Qatar University
• Davit Keshelava, Assistant Professor, Ivane Javakhishvili International School of Economics at TSU (ISET)

During the defense, the doctoral candidate presented his thesis and responded to questions. Following the presentation, the reviewer, Assistant Professor Davit Keshelava from ISET, provided his evaluation of the thesis.

The thesis board concluded that Munshi Masudul Haq successfully defended his dissertation and awarded him the degree of Doctor of Economics.
