The dissertation defense of Natia Gelashvili, a student of the English-language PhD program in economics, was held on June 9 at Caucasus University. The topic of her thesis was “The Impact of Agricultural Spending on value creation in Agriculture: Case of Georgia”.

The scientific supervisor of the dissertation was Professor Tengiz Taktakishvili.

The defense of the dissertation was held before the dissertation board, with the following composition:

• Akaki Tsomaia, Professor, School of Economics, Caucasus University;
• Tengiz Taktakishvili, Associate Professor, School of Business, Caucasus University;
• Mariam Kharaishvili, Assistant professor, School of Economics, Caucasus University;
• Vakhtang Khukreuli, Associate Professor, University of Business and Technology;
• Tsotne Zghenti, Associate Professor, University of Business and Technology.

At the defense, the candidate gave a presentation of the dissertation and answered the questions, after which the reviewer, assistant professor of the Caucasus University, Mariam Kharaishvili, presented her own evaluations of the dissertation.

According to the assessment of the board, Natia Gelashvili successfully defended her thesis and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Economics.
