June 1-4 , Bucharest (Romania), the Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe (Nispacee) 30th Annual Conference - „Crises, Vulnerability and Resilience in Public Administration“ was held.
At the 2022 Conference Caucasus School of Government initiated Panel on Policy Development and Coordination was held, co-chaired by the CSG public administration lecturer Mr. Giorgi Bobghiashvili.
A paper authored by Dr. Eka Akobia and Mr. Giorgi Bobghiashvili „Centralization of Policy Development and Coordination Systems – The Case of the Government of Georgia“ was presented at the Panel. The research paper described the practice of policy planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting in Georgia’s public sector. The paper analysed existing practice through the prism of contemporary public administration theoretical paradigm and formed policy recommendations for decision-makers. The work will be published as part of the Conference proceedings.
Dr. Eka Akobia participated in the special panel „Nispacee after 30 years“. The panel gathered former and current members of the Steering Committee, former and current Nispacee presidents, members of prominent sister organizations and other academic dignitaries. Participants recounted past achievements and milestones and underlined the importance of Nispacee in promoting scholarship in PA as well as its practical influence on the process of good governance, democracy and quality of PA in the region.
During the visit Eka Akobia also participated in Nispacee SC meetings which devised future activities of the network.
NISPAcee is the representative organization of Central and Eastern European institutions undertaking education, training and research in the field of public administration (region’s more than 90 Universities and Institutes are participating at this point).
