The round table discussion - ,,The European Union and Georgia before the accession negotiations''

On February 22, Caucasus University Jean Monnet Center of Excellence EUPOLTRANS (2022-2025) organized a round table discussion: The European Union and Georgia before the accession negotiations.

 

Project team presented ongoing researches about EU-Georgia relations, public administration and EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, as well as labor policy, environmental protection, consumer rights and competition policy, taking into consideration the Association Agreement demands as well as recent Council Conclusions and Commission Communications.

 

The purpose of the roundtable discussion, organized by the Caucasus University Jean Monnet Center of Excellence EUPOLTRANS was to involve interested professional circles (public, civil, academic, diplomatic corps) in a lively discussion about the process of Georgia’s integration with the European Union. This was a stocktaking exercise aimed at promoting synergy of different perspectives to be reflected in the discussions and researches on EU-Georgia ultimately for more inclusive and effective realization of goals required by the EU-Georgia's Association agenda and the goals of starting the accession negotiations with the EU.

 

Discussion participants were from the EU member state embassies accredited in Georgia, civil service and civil society organizations (CSOs) who are specialized in different aspects of EU-Georgia relations.
