Maya Mikashavidze, affiliated professor at the Caucasus School of Media (CSM) and Head of the Research Center at Caucasus University, visited Germany.
At the invitation of the International Institute of Journalism at TU Dortmund University, Professor Mikashavidze participated in a series of events organized within the framework of the international educational and research project "Covering Cohesion Policy in Europe (COPE)". As a guest speaker, she also met with students of the Master's Program in International Journalism.
The COPE project aims to develop new academic courses and training modules focused on reporting on European Union cohesion policy. Initially launched with the participation of universities from all 27 EU member states, the project expanded in 2025 to include universities from Georgia, Ukraine, and Moldova. Participation in the project represents another important opportunity to share international expertise and further strengthen the international academic cooperation of Caucasus University.
During her visit, Professor Mikashavidze also participated in the Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum held in Bonn. The forum brought together journalists, media researchers, academics, media owners, and media policymakers to discuss media freedom, combating disinformation, the impact of artificial intelligence, democracy, and strengthening public trust in the media. The forum serves as an important international platform for fostering professional cooperation and addressing current challenges and future developments in the media sector.
