JOINT UNDERGRADUATE 3-YEAR PROGRAM IN MEDIA ARTS WITH NJCY, USA (In the process of accreditation)

The 3-year joint Bachelor’s degree program in Media Arts was developed in response to the growing demand for professionals with multifunctional skills in media art, creative production and digital communication. This is the first joint program at Georgian educational market, where students will focus on maximizing the generation of artistic and creative ideas, as well as developing diverse and interdisciplinary competencies and techniques.

 

Program graduates will have:

 

  • Theoretical knowledge of various classical fields of art (cinema, fine arts, literature, theatre) and practical skills (creative communication, performance, drawing);
  • Knowledge of the full video/film production cycle and the ability to apply it in practice;
  • Knowledge and practical skills in using modern technologies in digital communication;
  • Skills in managing artistic, social, and cultural projects.

 

Within the program, students will study for 2 years at the School of Media of Caucasus University and they spend the 3rd year at New Jersey City University (USA).

 

Upon completion, graduates will receive a bachelor’s degree from both universities:

  • Bachelor of Media Arts (CU)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts (NJCU)

The 3-year Media Arts program comprises 200 ECTS credits, of which students complete 150 ECTS credits over the first two years at Caucasus University. The remaining 50 ECTS credits of the third year are completed at New Jersey City University (USA).

 

The academic year is organized on a semester basis and includes the first (fall) and second (spring) semesters. For students enrolled in the 2+1 program, participation in the third year of study in the USA is only possible if they have successfully completed all courses from the first and second academic years at the Caucasus School of Media, Caucasus University.

Applicants to the 3-year joint Bachelor’s program in Media Arts, jointly offered by the Caucasus School of Media and New Jersey City University (NJCU), must hold a full general education qualification (high school diploma). Admission to the program requires successful completion of the Unified National Examinations administered by the Legal Entity of Public Law – National Assessment and Examinations Center of Georgia.

 

Required examination subjects:

 

  • Georgian Language and Literature
  • English Language
  • One of the following as the third subject:Mathematics, History or Arts.

 

Applicants who are eligible for admission without taking the Unified National Examinations must demonstrate English language proficiency at B2 level, by submitting one of the following: IELTS - 6.0, TOEFL - 78, another relevant international certificate confirming B2 level or by passing a B2-level English exam administered by the university.

 

Admission through student mobility is possible in accordance with the procedures established by Georgian legislation.

 

Tuition fee for the 3-year joint Media Arts program: 21,500 GEL.
