MediaLab – Final Project

Context: On July 5–6, 2021, homophobic groups protesting the activities planned by Tbilisi Pride, including the Pride March, violently attacked members of the media who were covering the events taking place on the streets of Tbilisi. As a result of these attacks, more than 50 journalists, camera operators, and photojournalists from over 10 media outlets were injured. A few days later, camera operator Lekso Lashkarava, who had been brutally beaten during the violence, died. This project, created by CSM students, presents materials documenting those days and the broader context surrounding the events.
