Accredited Occupational Safety Specialist Training Program

 

The purpose of the Accredited Occupational Safety Specialist Training Program is to prepare an occupational safety specialist in accordance with the requirements of the Organic Law of Georgia on Occupational Safety and to develop the necessary competencies to ensure the safety and health of employees in the organization. 

 

Students can complete a fully accredited program that provides employment in all sectors of the economy, or an incomplete (low- and medium-risk facility) program, with graduates employed in all sectors except the list of jobs defined by the Resolution №381 of the Government of Georgia on July 27, 2018 “On the Approval of the List of Highly Dangerous, Heavy, Harmful, Dangerous Conditions Containing Jobs”. 

 

Upon completion of the program and passing the examination at a special examination center, graduates will receive a state-recognized occupational safety specialist certificate.

 

Fully Accredited Program - Two and a half months (230 hours)

 

Accredited program for low and medium risk facilities - a month and a half (148 hours)

 

Learning Outcomes - After graduating from the program:

  • The graduate is familiar with national legislation and international norms in the field of occupational safety;
  • Can assess the safety and health risks of employees and other persons in the workplace;
  • Ensures the introduction and management of occupational safety precautions to prevent occupational hazards, workplace accidents, occupational diseases or other harm to health due to work activities;
  • Conducts instructions provided by labor safety legislation;
  • Monitors the work environment and develops reports and recommendations in compliance with labor safety norms in the workplace;
  • Provides registration, investigation and reporting of accidents and occupational diseases in the workplace in accordance with the legislation of Georgia.

  9. Electrical and fire safety
  10. Classification of chemicals and safety rules
  11. Hygienic requirements for the microclimate of industrial premises
  12. Individual and collective protection measures
  13. Occupational hygiene: chemical, physical, biological and psychosocial factors; Measuring tools and practical skills in their use
  14. Safety signs and markings in the workspace
  15. Planning and implementation of emergency measures; Evacuation plan
  16. Environmental issues in the field of labor safety
  17. Moving cargo
  18. Working at heights
  19. Standards and rules for working with flammable and explosive substances
  20. Occupational safety in the machine - working with machinery, equipment and other work tools
  21. Methods and directions of conducting trainings and instructions
  22. Creating a safe and healthy work environment for employees with special needs

  24. Labor safety in the construction sector
  25. Occupational safety in the mining industry and/or heavy processing industry

Students of the program accredited for low and medium risk facilities will not pass the following 3 modules:

  • Labor safety in the construction sector
  • Occupational safety in the mining industry and/or heavy processing industry
  • Labor safety in light industry

 

The training starts on June 14, 2022.

  • Wednesday 18:30 - 22:00
  • Thursday - 18:30 - 22:00
  • Friday - 18:30 - 22:00
  • Saturday - 11:30 - 5:00 p.m.

 

Fully accredited program - 1650 GEL;

Accredited program for low and medium risk facilities - 1200 GEL.
