16 December 2025

The training “Adapting the Structures and Organizational Behavior for Digital Education – Organizing Technical and Support Services” was held within the scope of the PRODIGE (Promoting Quality Digital Education in Georgia) project, funded by the Erasmus+ Institutional Development Program (Capacity Building in Higher Education). Its objective was to strengthen the institutional capacities of higher education institutions for the effective implementation of digital education.

The training was attended by Diana Mchedlishvili, Director of the Quality Assurance Department at Caucasus University, as well as staff members from the same department. The involvement of Caucasus University representatives facilitated the practical application of the topics discussed during the training and their integration with the university's internal quality assurance processes.

Participants acquired knowledge and practical experience in ensuring the quality of distance and hybrid learning. Particular emphasis was placed on adapting institutional structures, transforming organizational behavior, and organizing technical and support services for the sustainable development of digital education.

Participants were introduced to international approaches to quality assurance in distance learning, principles for developing benchmarking documents, and global standards. The training featured case studies reflecting the experiences of various universities in implementing quality mechanisms for distance education.

The training also covered the assessment of institutional readiness for distance education delivery, planning of infrastructure and human resources, as well as practical aspects of implementing Learning Management Systems (LMS), including the use of Moodle, Canvas, Chamilo, and Google Classroom platforms.

Special attention was devoted to the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education. The potential applications of AI tools to streamline academic and administrative processes, provide students with virtual and augmented reality experiences, create chatbots, and enable data-driven decision-making were explored. Additionally, the training addressed ethical norms and principles of responsible implementation associated with AI usage.

During the training, participants had the opportunity to share their own experiences, engage in discussions, and collaboratively reflect on priorities for digital education and ways to apply the acquired knowledge in practice. This activity will make a significant contribution to the digital transformation process of Georgian higher education institutions and will promote the development of quality digital education in Georgia.
