CAUCASUS UNIVERSITY SUCCESSFULLY HOSTED THE HYBRID KICK-OFF MEETING FOR PRODIGE PROJECT

Caucasus University successfully hosted the hybrid kick-off meeting for the Erasmus+ Capacity Building Project PRODIGE (Promoting Digital Higher Education in Georgia) on December 16-17, 2024.

 

This significant event marked the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at advancing digital higher education in Georgia. Led by EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development), the project builds on a long-standing partnership between EFMD and Caucasus University, showcasing their shared commitment to innovation and excellence in education. The meeting brought together project representatives from 10 Georgian universities.

 

The PRODIGE project focuses on several key goals: supporting the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia in developing and reforming policies for digital education, establishing quality assurance mechanisms aligned with European standards, and strengthening the institutional capacities of Georgian universities to adopt innovative digital teaching, learning, and assessment practices. These efforts are crucial for fostering a modern and inclusive education system in Georgia.

 

The event included insightful speeches from Dr. Kakha Shengelia, President of Caucasus University, and Dr. Christophe Terrasse, Director of International Projects at EFMD, who emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared vision. Participants engaged in discussions about project objectives, planning, and the roadmap for future activities, laying a solid foundation for the project’s success.

 

This hybrid kick-off meeting demonstrated the strength of international partnerships and the commitment of Georgian and European institutions to advancing digital education. The next steps include specialized training sessions and collaborative initiatives scheduled for early 2025, paving the way for impactful changes in Georgia’s higher education landscape.

 

The member of consortium institutions are the following: Caucasus University, TSU, Ilia State University, Tbilisi State Medical University, Akaki Tsereteli State University, Akhaltsikhe State University, Batumi Maritime Academy, Zugdidi State Teaching University, Telavi State University, and Gori State University, MoESY and NCEQE, associate partner- Georgian Student Association and European partners included Estonian Quality Agency for Education, Haute École de Namur-Liège-Luxembourg, Belgium, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, University College Algebra, Croatia and National University of Distance Education, Spain. Together, these institutions formed a diverse and dynamic consortium dedicated to enhancing digital education systems.
