TEESS – Italian School ‘’Tsiskari’’

“Triangle Effect of European Studies at Schools” (TEESS) is an Erasmus + Jean Monnet project carried out by the Caucasus University. It aims to raise awareness of European Integration, AA/DCFTA among pupils, their parents and teachers who are living in regions with high ethnic minority and refugee populations. Several meetings have been carried out at public schools. Textbooks about ‘’European Association Process in Georgia’’ have also been published for history and civic education teachers. Other schools have also taken a great interest in the project after the information was shared on the project’s website and social networks. Other teachers have expressed willingness to use this textbook. We have been informed that ‘’Georgia and Europe – European Association Process in Georgia’’ week was held at an Italian School ‘’Tsiskari’’ on 15-25 February.

Students have utilized the following study materials: ‘’European Association Process in Georgia – textbook in History and Civic Education for Teachers’’ (Authors: Caucasus University Humanities and Social Sciences Professor, Guranda Chelidze; Caucasus University Law School Associated Professor, Ekaterine Kardava and Professor Zurab Bragvadze), the textbook was published by the Caucasus University with the support of Erasmus + Jean Monnet project Triangle Effect of European Studies at schools” (TEESS) - 611026-EPP-1- 2019-1-GEEPPJMO-PROJEC. X-XI class students made presentations about the following topics: What it means to be European, European Way of Life, EU’s Objectives, EU’s Values, EU’s Creation, EU’s Membership Criteria, What does European Neighborhood Policy Entail, Eastern Partnership, EU’s Projects, New Challenges in the Process of European Integration, EU’s Support towards Georgia. The presentations illustrated that the European Integration ensures Georgia’s progress and development. This process is crucial in advancing Georgia’s national interests and guarantees that Georgian citizens are free and secure.

The discussions vividly demonstrated that Georgia’s European Way is the historical choice of the Georgian People and the State.
