Caucasus University hosted an event dedicated to the traditional European Day of Languages. For the past 24 years, this day has been celebrated by the member states of the Council of Europe in support of linguistic and cultural diversity.
A public lecture on the topic “The Boundaries of My Language Are the Boundaries of My World” was delivered by Maia Badridze, German scholar, distinguished translator of scientific and literary works, and laureate of both the Austrian State Prize (for contributions to Austrian culture) and the Georgian State Prize (for literary and translation activities).
Following the lecture, a discussion was held with the participation of students, focusing on European and Georgian experiences in creating linguistic fabric, the importance of lexeme selection, and the necessity of conveying them in an appropriate form.
The event was moderated by Professor Mariam Manjgaladze, Caucasus University.
