On April 14, the concluding event of the Georgian Language Days was held on the campus of Caucasus University.
The president of Caucasus University, Dr. Kakha Shengelia, delivered a speech at the event. The event was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia - Nunu Mitskevich, government officials, Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia - Andrius Kalindra and other invited guests, who addressed the audience. At the final event of the project, The Georgian Alphabet Garden was opened in the yard of the CU campus.
Caucasus University has established an award - "Supporter of the Georgian Language", which was awarded to Academician Mzekala Shanidze for the first time this year, and an auditorium named after her was opened on the university campus. An exhibition of Iakob Gogebashvili’s unique publications in his native language, which are preserved in the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia, was held at the event. The President of Caucasus University awarded study vouchers to the winners of the essay competition held within the framework of the Georgian Language Days, while the winners of the calligraphy competition were given various symbolic gifts. The 2 authors of the best works in both competitions were presented with gifts on behalf of the Group of Georgian Friends of the Parliament of Lithuania by the Ambassador of Lithuania to Georgia - Andrius Kalindra.
Georgian Language Days at Caucasus University were organized on the initiative of Professor Mariam Manjgaladze and prepared by Caucasus University. As part of the project, from March 30 to April 12, various events were held at the CU campus, including public lectures and competitions for students and entrants.
