The 3rd International Scientific Conference titled "Current Problems of History Teaching" was held at the Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University (ASPU).
The conference was organized by the Chamber of World History and its Teaching Methodology and the Research Scientific Center of History Teaching in Armenia and Diaspora operating at the Faculty.
The scientific enterprise brought together leading specialists of Republic Armenia and foreign scientific institutions under one floor to discuss the main issues of the field and share the results of their research.
Jean Monnet Professor Guranda Chelidze from Caucasus University and the Jean Monnet Chair “European Union for Peace, Prosperity, and Security” (EU-PPS) took part in the conference (online). She shared with her colleagues the experience she had gained at the Jean Monnet Chair in developing and improving new courses. In her presentation “The Teaching of Contemporary European History in HEI: Problems, Practice and Perspectives” she discussed the main problems and trends associated with teaching “Modern and Contemporary European History”. She talked about the course content, teaching methods, and educational materials. The presentation aroused great interest among the audience, a number of interesting questions were asked, and a discussion took place.
