On July 25, the president of the university, Dr. Kakha Shengelia, officially opened the 26th annual conference of the Network of International Business and Economics Schools (NIBES) at Caucasus University.
Within the framework of the conference, Caucasus University is hosting the members of the association, Deans and other representatives of the leading schools of business and economics from the following countries: The United States of America, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Belgium, France, Portugal, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey.
The Dean of Caucasus School of Business, Elene Jgharkava, and the Dean of Caucasus School of Economics, Ioseb Berikashvili, gave a welcome speech at the conference, focusing on the importance of membership in the organization. It’s important to note that the Vice-president of Caucasus University in the field of research and strategic development, Boris (Buba) Lezhava and the director of the department of international relations and projects of the university, Irena Melua spoke about the achievements and current news of Caucasus University.
It should be noted that on the first day of the conference, the participants had the opportunity to receive detailed information about the Georgian higher education system from the Head of the Department of Education and Science, Higher Education and Science Development, Nino Tsereteli, and the Head of Higher Education Quality Assurance Department at the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancemen, Nikoloz Parjanadze.
Within the framework of the conference, the participants introduced each other to the current important projects and discussed issues of deepening cooperation and future plans of the organization.
"NIBES" is an international association that currently unites 20 business and economics schools from 20 countries. The purpose of the organization is to support student and academic exchange, research and joint academic programs between member universities. It should be noted that the Caucasus University obtained the status of a member of NIBES in 2007, at the 11th annual meeting held in Hiroshima, and is the only Georgian higher educational institution in the organization.
